Dogwood Lodge in Hogsback Dogwood Lodge is a holiday home for dogs visiting the mountain. But we even cater for humans too!

Boasting garden views, Dogwood Lodge features accommodation with a terrace and a patio. This homestay has a garden, braai facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. The homestay consists of 1 bedroom, a living room, a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle, and 1 bathroom with a shower and a bath.

Dogwood Lodge also provides accommodation for visitors’ dogs while they are on holiday in Hogsback. Owners are free to come and go with their dogs as they choose.

Dogs are accommodated in purpose built cabins with enclosed small yard. Meals include pets’ mince produced on the premises. Situated at the bottom of Plaatjieskraal road, close to Starways Pottery.

Dogwood is also home to the Hogsback Huskie and dry sledding with the huskies are available on request.

Rates for Accommodation

Humans: Studio-type room, self catering, with en-suite bathroom and fully equipped kitchenette.

Sleeps two people with queen bed.

Rate mid season/weekends R300 per night. Min two nights weekends

Long weekends R350 per night, min three nights.

High season R600 per night, min two nights.

Dogs: Dogwood cabins (dogs)

Two separate cabins available, accommodates up to four medium size dogs from same family in each. Rates include 2 meals a day, pet mince produced on site included.

Small R50/day mid season R75 long weekends/high season

Medium R75/day mid season R100/day long weekends/high season.

Large R100/day mid season R150/day long weekends/high season.

Above are based on one dog. Discounts apply for more than one dog, same family, and stays longer than two days.

Husky Adventures.

Husky Drag – walk into forest with Husky

Bike run – harnessed run on mountain bike with one or two Huskies

Cart run – run with team on special dog cart.

Above activities is the most exciting way of messing your pants!

Prices on enquiry. Availability subject to weather. If temp above 15c, walks only. if it’s raining, then it’s not pleasant so not worth doing, even though the dogs don’t mind, their coats are waterproof!
