More about Carrie…
CarrieCarrie first encountered natural building whilst wwoofing around South Africa in 2011. She attended a cob building course shortly after and started honing her newfound skills by building cob ovens of which she has long since lost count. She has gained skills in multiple natural building techniques and materials, these include cob, adobe, wattle and daub, light straw earth, compressed earth tyres, cordwood. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills of the fundamentals of building from foundations through to finishes, or encouraging the discovery of plastering materials right under your very feet and applying them to your dream home.
Another constant highlight is sharing her passion for showcasing the amazing sculptural properties and up-cycling possibilities of earth building through using Eco-bricks and glass bottles. Through the years she has collaborated on groundbreaking earth building projects and facilitated many workshops from Cape Town to Vic Falls. She hopes to empower and inspire others to have the courage to learn to build your own handmade home, literally and be moved on a very deep level with profoundly ‘grounding’ effects on the soul, that is a guarantee!
